Support our research
Schizophrenia is more than hallucinations and delusions. For many people, difficulties with motivation, social engagement and physical health have a lasting impact on their lives. At schizophrenias.group, we challenge conventional ideas about the illness and explore new approaches to understanding and treating it.
Our research focuses on some of the most neglected aspects of schizophrenia, including motivation and negative symptoms, premature physical illness and biological ageing, and improving treatment for people with persistent symptoms. Our work builds on years of NHS clinical practice and a unique long-term clinical research database, bringing research closer to the experiences and needs of patients.
Your support can make a difference. Philanthropic donations allow us to explore ambitious ideas that conventional funding may consider too early, test new approaches and move promising discoveries towards better treatments.
All donations support research led by Dr Emilio Fernandez-Egea at the University of Cambridge and are processed exclusively through the University's official donation programme.
