Gut-immune Psychosis

Several environmental risk factors for the development of Psychotic Spectrum Disorders (PSDs) converge on the gastrointestinal tract.

Environmental hits might trigger alterations in the microbiome composition, which in turns affect the development of gastrointestinal immune tolerance to usually neutral stimuli, such as food antigens and commensal gut pathogens.

This is a collaboration with Dr Amedeo Minichino, University of Oxford.

We are looking for people diagnosed with a psychotic disorder, with stable antipsychotic medication or about to change. It takes about 20’ for the questions and needs to post biological material to the department.
